Timeline: 2016 - 2020

Overview: From 2016 to 2020, I collaborated with Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP), a leading manufacturer of engineered wood products, on various web-related projects. These included campaign landing pages, product launches, an online product quiz, trade show booth designs, and contributions to the design system for the LP product catalog. The designs were tailored specifically to LP’s key audiences—homeowners, builders, and contractors—ensuring that each user group had a seamless and relevant experience across all platforms.

LP Elements Fence

In 2019, LP expanded their product portfolio with the launch of LP Fence®, and I designed a dedicated landing page to introduce this new offering. Following the initial launch, LP introduced an additional board thickness to the product line. I updated and redesigned key elements of the page to highlight these new features and ensure the landing page accurately reflected the expanded LP Fence® portfolio.

LP ExpertFinish Color Quiz

In late 2019, LP expanded its SmartSide portfolio with the introduction of ExpertFinish, a prefinished siding option available in a range of colors. As the lead on this project, I saw an opportunity to create a fun and interactive quiz for users. The quiz asks questions like, 'How much shade does your house get?' and 'Is your house made of brick or stone?' to recommend the perfect siding color for their home. The goal was to make users feel like the color choice was a personalized suggestion, while also providing easy access to request a quote and capturing leads for future sales. You can try it out here.

LP Where to Buy

In early 2019, I led the redesign of LP’s 'Where to Buy' page, aiming to streamline the process of finding LP products. The goal was to create a user-friendly page where visitors could search by area code to see where LP products are sold nearby. Additionally, users could easily connect with siding contractors to request quotes.

One of the main challenges was integrating the page with distributors' back-end systems. This created a need for users to understand that while a distributor might list a product, it may not always be in stock. Another challenge was organizing four distinct seller types, including Shed Dealers, who are part of an independent network. To address these, I conducted several rounds of user testing to optimize feature placement and ensure a seamless experience.

LP Portfolio Updates

In late 2018, my team was tasked with refreshing the entire LP Corp website, starting with the redesign of the SmartSide portfolio. Following the successful completion of the SmartSide update, we continued refining the site by updating design systems and adding complementary components across the entire platform. Over time, we gathered valuable data that helped us identify which pages required the most attention, which ones should be removed, and which needed adjustments to improve the overall user journey.
