The HypeBox Lyft Experience

I participated in an internal project at our company to make a unique, out of the box, fun experience to pitch to potential vendors. I used a HypeBox which is an augmented reality touch screen technology that combines interactive digital content with real products. Using the HypeBox technology, I was able to show my thought process using an interactive three-dimensional platform rather than a two-dimensional traditional platform.

Thinking Outside the Box

To make this project fun and unique, I knew I wanted users to experience a “wow” factor that they would not forget and would want to tell their friends about.  The initial “wow” factor was for users to see a weird touch screen box they had never seen before which would cause them to be curious and excited about the approach. The effect upon first approaching the box is supposed to give the user a feeling of life - as the screen almost feels like it is breathing.

After the intro, the journey is led by the user and where they want their final destination to be. The box itself displays Nashville’s hot spots, such as Robert’s Western World, Hattie B’s, Exit/In, Zanies, and Dino’s. This approach could be used as a potential way to monetize the experience (with advertisers). Each experience is different for every user depending on what destination they choose.
